London set to strut its stuff for Fashion Week

The fashion world will descend on the nation’s capital for London Fashion Week between February 17th and 21st and what promises to be the largest ever turnout for the event. Now in its 65th year, the city expects to see some 5,000 or more guests arrive from 50 or more countries to take in the latest styles and trends.
Held for the first time at The Store Studios on The Strand, this year’s event features an impressive 51 catwalk shows along with 32 presentations designed to showcase Britain’s extremely innovative and creative fashion industry, along with top international brands and designers.
Highlights of this year’s event include a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Roland Mouret’s brand, as well as leading brands including Chalayan, Hill and Friends, A.W.A.K.E. and Ports 1961. Other not-to-be missed catwalk events includes a chance to get an early glimpse of Burberry’s womenswear and menswear collections, as well as lines by Donatella Versace’s VERSUS and MM6 Maison Margiela, both guaranteed to draw a crowd.
Also worth checking out are the Designer Showrooms, a chance to view the collections of some 120 designers including Alighieri, Dorateymur and Loxley England.
Attendees will also have a chance to purchase a specially designed Vivienne Westwood charity tote bag to carry all that fashion swag in (best of all, 50% of profits are to be donated to the Fuel Poverty Action charity).
