By Bryan Dearsley

As famous for the attention-grabbing headlines that often accompany its exhibits as it is for its art, the magnificent Saatchi Gallery is a must visit when in Chelsea. Established in 1985 by Charles Saatchi (co-founder of Saatchi & Saatchi) to house his growing private collection, this influential contemporary art gallery settled into its magnificent Duke of York's HQ in Sloane Square in 2008.

In addition to showcasing work by up-and-coming British and groundbreaking international artists, the gallery regularly features exhibits by the likes of Andy Warhol and the always edgy Damien Hirst. Exhibits rotate frequently ensuring there’s always something new to see, and is one of the reasons why the gallery boasts in excess of 1.5 million visits a year, making it one of the most visited art galleries in Europe.

In addition to its always fascinating art exhibits, other fun things to do at the Saatchi Gallery include visiting its well-stocked book shop, experiencing its excellent restaurant and bar, as well as making use of its meeting spaces, available for functions and gatherings.
